Flight Page 7
War tried to push her off him so he could put his cock inside her, but she wouldn’t let him. Instead, she stayed fastened to his dick, milking it until his seed erupted in her mouth. She swallowed it and grinned at him.
War wasn’t about to be outdone by her. Moving her to the edge of the bed, he spread her legs and gently nibbled on her labia. His beard caressed her inner thighs and tickled her pussy, which startled her with a delightful sensation. Jade tossed her head back and let out a long, joyful moan. Encouraged by her enthusiastic response, he lightened his touch until he was licking her so softly she barely felt it at all. The pleasure was sweet agony. Every time Jade got close to orgasm, War would stop and let her calm down.
“Make me come,” Jade gasped, twisting her hips up to his lips.
“Beg me,” he growled.
“You are the most horrible man in the world,” she complained.
“That doesn’t sound like begging to me.”
“Please, War . . . Please . . .”
His tongue played along her clit, and she whimpered. “First you have to tell me how much you love me.”
Jade smiled. “I love you soooo much.”
War placed his mouth against her pussy and hummed. The gentle vibration brought her to a screaming climax immediately. After several seconds of bliss, it finally subsided, and she lay there spent.
“War?” she whispered.
“Yes, baby,” he said, lying next to her playing with the hair on his chest.
“Do you love me?”
War rolled over and placed his lips against her ear. He stroked her hair softly and nuzzled her. “Like my life, baby,” he said. “Like my life.”
Chapter Twenty
War watched Jade pull on one of his large flannel shirts and her grey sweats, grab a beer, and head out to the porch. He pulled on his blue jeans and followed her out, then took a seat opposite her. A slow night breeze tousled her hair as she traced the many carvings on the picnic bench’s wood top.
High Tower came over and joined them. Everyone was quiet for a long time. Then HighTower said to Jade, “Bullet thinks he might have found the colony where Robert is hanging out.” He took out a piece of gum, peeled off the wrapper, and chewed it. He folded the wrapper into a very tiny triangle. “He wants to know if you’re still going through with killing him.”
Jade glanced up and met War’s eyes. He sure hoped she’d just let this revenge thing go. It was a mistake to take what the vamps did personally. Like all predators, they only did what instinct told them. Robert was only a tool for the more powerful vamps. Singling him out to kill wouldn’t bring Bill back and might even make some of the vamps want revenge on Jade.
She took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes. Then she replaced them and said, “I think”—she took a deep breath—“I’m going to let it go. If we run into him, he’s mine, but I’m not going to hunt him down. He’ll meet his end soon enough.”
War and HighTower stared at her, surprised. A few clouds moved away from the moon, and its full circle came into view. “Are you sure?” HighTower said.
Jade looked into War’s eyes, and he could almost read her thoughts. She’d finally accepted and found peace with who she was. When he looked at her, he no longer saw a fresh-faced college student. He saw his mature and beautiful queen.
“So,” HighTower said, “are we going out tonight?”
War took Jade’s hand and kissed the palm. “Yes,” he said. “Just have Bullet pick some colony at random.”
High Tower grinned and got up. “Will do.”
When he had left, War interlaced his fingers with hers. “I’m surprised.”
“Pleasantly surprised, I hope.”
“Yes,” he said. “I’m very proud of you. I know that wasn’t an easy decision to make.”
Jade smiled. “I did a lot of thinking, and I realized I had other priorities, like the wake. I wanted to set a good example for them, and revenge isn’t what I wanted to be known for.”
“I think that’s wise.”
“Me too,” Jade said, getting up and stretching. “Now let’s go out and kick some vampire ass.”
“Spoken like a true vulture queen, baby.”
